<p>Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7:21AM Twix candy bars have been around since the beginning of time. Which makes it all the more impressive they picked ad people (Nitro Group) who finally got the TV-Internet thing just right. Casting Adam Pally (Death by Roo Roo) as the untucked, shoebox-dwelling, New York City Everyman was genius. He blends the right amount of Mystery Method with Otter from Animal House. Next, these ad folks consolidated several 30-second spots into a Dragon's Lair / Choose Your Own Adventure Flash-based Internet Thingee, which takes a little while to load, but doesn't overdo it with hovering-cursor technology. Lastly, they cast Thomas Middleditch as "Bruce" (continued...)</p>

<p>...who very nearly steals the show, and definitely takes the ad from good to great. If you've ever seen Thomas Middleditch (Improvised Shakespeare, Baby Wants Candy) improvise, he's one funny motherfucker, and his character work is the best around. Hearing him mutter, "Nope, nope, nope" as he's walking away is priceless. We were sold on Middleditch a while ago, and we can only imagine that he and Pally both homered at their auditions for this ad. Nice jobs, fellas.</p>
