<p>Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 6:44AM Don Pardo's workday just got two warbled utterances longer! The UCBT news blotter listed a breaking item late Friday announcing that Casey Wilson has joined the cast of Saturday Night Live.</p>
<p>Casey has been on THE ROAD TO SUCCESS ever since being summoned to UCBT greatness by its former artistic director Owen Burke. NYU grads Casey Wilson and June Raphael created the smash hit "Rode Hard Put Away Wet" which ran on the UCB stage circa 2004-05. Shortly afterwards, Wilson moved to LA because that's just what people do, ok? We wonder if she was reading an advance copy of The Secret back then? Look at this: In an interview with Wilson that's been carbon dated to about 100 years ago, she's asked what her goals are, and she replies:</p>
<p>> "I just want to do good work. Stuff that's funny, also stuff that's not funny. I'd like to work on Saturday Night Live..."</p>

<p>No ill-will, but thus far, Casey Wilson's been entirely unimpressive. An example: Hugh Laurie, Christmas dinner sketch. Casey as matriarch. Grandiose, unfunny performance. I feel as if I've never laughed at a piece of her work. Especially the Katie Perry bit; if she wrote it, that's something SNL needs less of. All sketch comedy, for that matter.
