Thursday Jan 27 2011 Sinbad Delivering a Keynote Address @ Macworld

Interesting. I spotted this headline link on my Facebook feed: "Sinbad Pulls a Huge Crowd to Macworld Keynote [Macworld 2011]." Although there's no footage yet of Sinbad's keynote address, I did find this Macworld clip from a while back:

I think that's interesting. And according to general manager of Macworld Paul Kent in this Wired article:

> “Sinbad fits the bill for our feature presenters, because he’s a celebrity who relies on technology to express inspiration,” Kent said. “It’ll be entertaining and info-taining and thought-provoking.”

I enjoyed Sinbad's badge that reads: "Sinbad Badness," but I didn't particularly enjoy Mike Daisey's big glass of Haterade:

> "I find it incredibly depressing that Sinbad has the keynote at Macworld, and I couldn't get them to even give me a speaking slot to try and shake their point of view. SINBAD. Nevertheless, we have sold out crowds, and we will persevere..."

Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:56PM Urlesque.com made a keen observation the other day that David Cross and famed children's entertainer David Landau MIGHT BE THE SAME PERSON. There's a chance they might not be too, but there's no mountain of evidence to support either claim. The fact is, no one really knows. The two Davids are never seen together on stage, and to my knowledge, they've never publicly denied not being the other person. Look at this infographic if you need hard-hitting evidence.

If they're really not the same guy, then perhaps this is a lead in that cold case from a few years ago.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 5:43PM Like many people, I've chalked up the outrageous humor in these Taiwanese Next Media Animation videos simply to foreigners being wacky. But with their latest vid featuring an Obama/President Hu rap battle, NMA has tipped their hand too far. There's no doubt now that American comedy writers are in bed with this organization.

Who's really responsible for this stuff? Who sold out the secrets of our zeitgeist for a handful of yuan? The animation looks a lot like Xavier: Renegade Angel and the sophisticated humor is quite similar too. Could PFFR be writing for NMA? Or is it someone from the South Park camp?

In an interview with NMA's content and business developer, Michael Logan, the guy says, "The people who work for Next Media are some of the brightest and most talented in our industry." I believe he misspoke, he meant to say, "the brightest and most talented traitors in our industry."

Let's flush these (orange flavored) chickens out!

The Apiary | Post a Comment | 1 Reference tagged Next Media Animation in Curious Cases Friday Feb 05 2010 THE CURIOUS CASE OF: Tiger Woods' Brain Damage

Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1:49PM So I was talking to my dad on the phone the other day and our conversation usually consists of painful, prolonged, drawn out silences, but then I thought, "Oh! He's into golf, he must have an opinion on Tiger Woods' shenanigans." And sure enough, it was the best opinion: "Tiger Woods' brain was damaged when his wife hit him with a golf club and she's covering it up and that's why no one's seen him since November." To back up his outrageous claims, he cited the fact that he knew a guy who knew a guy who got in a fight on a golf course in the 1980s and was beaned in the head with a club and WAS NEVER THE SAME AGAIN. Now it's plausible! According to him, Tiger is addled beyond repair and the sex addiction therapy is actually brain swelling reduction therapy.

This brings up a bunch of questions:

* Encephalitis is funny, right?

* Will Tiger be cured in time to golf and have casual sex at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona?

* How long does it take for a mild case of hemorrhaging to stop?

* Do people with $$$, have better access to brain transplants?

As the days went by, I stopped thinking about these questions because, seriously, who has the time? But then I received a mysterious email from a friend which enclosed a photo that pretty much proves that a surgical procedure had taken place and CLOSES THE CASE LIKE A CLOSING DOOR. (I'm terrible at similes!)

You be the judge:
