The Apiary | Post a Comment tagged Brent Weinbach , Talent Moat , The Night Shift in Giveaways Wednesday Sep 16 2009 GIVEAWAY | Tickets to The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival
Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 12:22PM The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival kicks off tomorrow night with shows scheduled at Union Hall and the Bell House through Sunday.
TimeOut NY just published a nice article about it which says:
> Beyond catching the elusive Kitson, there are a few festival requirements. First, there's the Opening Night party, with a lineup that includes Kristen Schaal, Pete Holmes, Jon Benjamin, Mirman himself, a VIP room made out of cardboard and an entire roasted pig. Next, a welcome reunion of Mirman and Bobby Tisdale’s long-running Invite Them Up promises both John Hodgman’s stoic, erudite persona dishing fabricated facts, and Reggie Watts’ menagerie of characters backed by flurries of virtuosic beat-boxing. Lastly, there’s something called the Comedians of Law & Order—another ridiculous conceit that features a stellar lineup (A.D. Miles, Zak Orth and Jim Gaffigan). As Mirman says, "It's silly and it's a festival."
The promoters were kind enough to offer pairs of passes to the following shows:
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19
*Early Show: I'll Be Famous in 5 Years (or a Copywriter / Audience Coordinator)
With Hannibal Buress, Kumail Nanjiani, Brent Sullivan, Patrick Borelli and more.
18+ Time: Doors: 6p, Show: 630p, Bell House, $10
*Late Show: The Comedians of Law and Order
What is this show? Basically, it's comedians who we like who've been on at least one of the 9 different Law and Orders, including Zak Orth, AD Miles and more very special guests.
21+ Doors: 830p, Show: 9pm, Bell House, $15
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20
*Panel: Why Talented People Create Terrible Shows
Eric Slovin and Leo Allen host a panel of comedians, executives and industry people discussing why so many talented people make such terrible shows.
18+ Doors at 3p, Show at 3:30pm, Bell House, $7
HOW TO BE A WINNER
1) Put "Tickets to The Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival" in the subject line of an email addressed to theapiary@gmail.com. Please tell us which of the three shows you'd most like to attend.
2) Send that email by MIDNIGHT TONIGHT EST (9/16).
3) If you win, tell your friends via your blog or a Facebook bulletin that The Apiary made you a winner.
