<p>Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 10:24AM As reported Friday, Andy Secunda--one of the members of NYC improv supergroup, The Swarm--got his pilot picked up by UPN. Allow us to SPECULATE... T.V. is made in LA > which means Andy will be heading for the sunny west coast > which means we wonder what kinds of items will be at his moving sale > which means COULD THIS BREAK UP THE SWARM?! Founding member of The Swarm and UCB fixture, Sean Conroy, left town last year for LA. Street chatter puts the REMAINING number of active founding members at 2... Could this be the end of an era?</p>

<p>Monday, May 23, 2005 at 8:42AM The Brooklyn Comedy Company is often seen around town producing FREE shows with NO DRINK MINIMUMS featuring TALENTED stand-ups. Is there anything better?The Apiary chatted with Dafina McMillan, the PR Director of the BCCo to find out the secrets of their business model:> We stay in business because of people like Elon James White (founder of BcCo) who has the heart and dedication to produce quality comedy events, all while not exploiting audiences. With sponsorships and corporate events, for example, BcCo can continue to produce A-list shows at inexpensive costs to the audience.</p>
<p>Much like most weeknights at Rififi, the BCCo produces FREE, low-key/no-strings shows that would please both seasoned comedy consumers and comedy cringers. Here is the BCCo's truncated mission statement:> The mission of The Brooklyn Comedy Company is to create high quality comedic entertainment for audiences while nurturing talented up and comers as well as providing space for professionals to continue to hone their craft free of the hindrances of the normal comedy clubs polices and politics.</p>

<p>Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at 7:27PM On The PIT's website, the top headline is "PIT Student Hired at The Daily Show!"> PITizen Rachel Axler was recently hired as a writer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. After taking "Writing for The Daily Show" with PIT faculty member (and Daily Show writer) J.R. Havlan, her work was read by the producer that reviews submissions for the show. On May 2nd, her first day on the job, she joined PITizen Bob Wiltfong as a member of The Daily Show staff. Congratulations Rachel!
