The Apiary | 1 Comment Friday Sep 29 2006 David Cross and Jim Belushi Continue Feuding
Friday, September 29, 2006 at 8:11AM The ongoing drama between FEUDING CELEBRITIES David Cross and Jim Belushi, has reared its head again in this recent You Tube video discovered by Klaus Kinski depicting David Cross innocently trying to have a rockin' good time by joining Jim's band on stage. From an interview with Mr. Cross dating back to 2003...> I read something you wrote online that seems to indicate you might not be a Jim Belushi fan. He's one of those guys that any real man can't help but idolize. He's living the life. He does it - he's pure. Whenever you see a guy in a commercial high-fiving with a beer in his hand, watching the sports game - that's like a fake version of Jim Belushi. He's the real deal. He's the shit. That guy is reinventing music; he's reinventing comedy; he's an angel; he's one of the nicest, most magnanimous people you'll ever meet; extremely pleasant to be around; very giving; very warm; intellectually original and creative and inspiring. I just try to give him a shout out whenever I can.It sounds like what you're saying is that you're either with Jim Belushi or you're with the terrorists.Exactly.

Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 12:23PM The pornographers at the FUSE television station have acquired the rights to a lurid solo video of Stefan Lawrence of the sketch group Elephant Larry stripping to his skivvies and then baring his blurry bits. An article in the New York Daily News tells the sordid tale of runaway computer programmers and sanitation workers who are letting their johnsons and jayjays hang out for Pants Off Dance Off, the only show since Full House to successfully lure cutie Jodi Sweetin away from her crystal meth pipe and back to the small sceen.CLICK TO SEE THE SHOCKING ARTICLERELATEDIt's Not Easy Being Green Screened

The Apiary | Post a Comment in The Beehive Thursday Sep 28 2006 Winners in Contests Are Winners in Life
Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 8:09AM The following contest winners have won Demetri Martin's new CD/DVD, These Are Jokes. See--it totally benefits to occasionally to read this website!WINNING FAN ART"Demetri Tames the Last Unicorn. With Laughter." by Jonathan"Call and Response" by Joey"Me Laughing at Demetri's Jokes" by PaulWINNING SOB STORY> One year ago today I heard that Demetri Martin was going to record a CD. From that day forward I worked 3 jobs for the purpose of being able to one day afford a CD player. I was a paper boy in the mornings, a special needs teacher in the evenings, and a stray puppy rescuer at night. I haven't slept since 2005. At some point a few months ago, I finally earned enough money to buy a CD player. It was at that very moment that I heard Demetri's CD was also going to also include a DVD. Sadly, this required me to work extra in order to earn enough money to buy a DVD player in addition to the CD player. On top of my current 3 jobs, I now had to start giving piggy back rides to pedestrians who looked too tired to walk, and open the bottles and jars of random old people for tips. I then finally earned enough money to buy a DVD player. The thing is, the CD/DVD is now out, and I used all of my money to buy the CD and DVD player. What ever am I to do? -- Jared
WINNING RANDOM PERSONLauren from Enid, Oklahoma.

The Apiary | Post a Comment Wednesday Sep 27 2006 Comedians Love After-Parties, Going Out!
Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 10:19AM A female superfan wrote in with some SPOTTINGS and commentary:> I was at the School For Scoundrels after-party on Monday night at Stone Rose in the Time Warner center - here is who I saw: Horatio Sanz (all dressed up and was that a TUXEDO shirt? Lookin' good), Rob Huebel (with floppy long hair), Aziz Ansari (wide-eyed and adorable), Paul Scheer (gap-toothed and adorable), Matt Walsh (doughy and adorable), the guy with the afro who looks like he's from the 70s (one of the two cops in the trailer)(dangerous-lookin' and adorable), Jackie Clarke (she's always adorable), and a few other UCB types that I can't recall but those are the main ones. Billy Bob Thornton was off in the corner by the "Todd Philips" table; I saw Jon Heder briefly, and Bob Weinstein was there too. They had Scoundrel-themed drinks.
While you're wondering what Scoundrel-themed drinks are, consider this additional intel:> I was coincidentally sitting next to Chris Parnell last night at Houston's on Park & 27th - he was clearly on a date (sharing dessert - cute!), with a pretty brunette companion who seemed to hang on his every word. He looked relaxed and very cute, chilling in his New Balance sneaks. Aw.
Okay, so 2 of the 3 recently announced SNL ex-pats are accounted for... if anyone sees Finesse Mitchell in line at Cosi, report to us immediately.RELATEDHuman Giant and THE ORIGINAL Human Giant

The Apiary | 2 Comments in Stand Up Tuesday Sep 26 2006 Crossing Over
Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at 8:36AM The Apiary went ON LOCATION this past weekend to Chicago. The mission was two-fold: to binge oneself silly on greasy beer and cheap food and to try communicating with the editors of The Bastion without the use of a keyboard. Aside from UNITED AIRLINES nearly ruining the excursion on the way back--by means of killing everyone on board the stupid plane--the mission was a rousing success! But you know, 2005 was a great time for reading about personal journeys and feelings on a blog, so to spare you another minute of this, here are a few notes about Chicagoland and comedy that might be of interest to folks here: --We saw a performance of the live game show, Don't Spit the Water. It's a great forum to watch comics test out their character work, timing, and shock value skillz. --Alt-room style stand up comedy in Chicago is a relatively new venture being pioneered in part by Tony Sam, co-founder of Chicago Underground Comedy. In the way that we collectively associate MySpace as a place for friends, Mr. Sam seeks to position Chicago as a place for stand up--not just improv. So, if you want to gigswap on each others' turfs, he seems to be a good guy to talk to. --The friendly ladies behind The Bastion are really well connected and involved in the comedy community there--drop them a line if you're heading to the Midwest or you need help scouting talent. --In hushed whispers, there was talk about a comedy journalist curse in Chicago. Is this true??Don't Spit the Water - The Final Showdown-- photo via K-Rock
