Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 2:22PM

I got this in my inbox late last night. And I haven't stopped feeling warm and fuzzy since. But that could be 'cause I'm rolling like a mugg, yall....

> To our dearest friends,

If there is any time of year to set aside the normal rhetoric of sarcasm and fakery it is the yuletide season. All of Murderfist is writing to say a sincere and grateful Happy Holidays to all of those who touched our lives this year. All joking aside, you are one of the reasons why we know we have a loving God in Heaven above and that is why you are receiving this e-mail. 2,010 years ago Jesus was born in a humble manger, barely protected from the wild winter seasons of Israel. His father, a lowly sand farmer, his mother, a bewildered virgin, knew this day would be a blessed one. And when the boy they called Jesus was born, the tiny babe, with eyes so full of understanding and preternatural sympathy, pointed towards his mothers breast and gave her first milk to a hungry lamb.

It is in this mindset that we made the following Video Media Christmas Card! It is best to be enjoyed with a glass of eggnog and a light heart knowing that our loved ones are safe and warm during this blessed Christmas season! And FYI the children's choir featured in the video is the New Orleans Katrina Relief Christmas Choir who allowed us to feature their beautiful smiles in our small Christmas tale. Gather the family around a warm computer (how times have changed!) and watch our video that we made!

Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 2:41PM Welcome back, Diddy! After executing a perfect dive into the collective consciousness of New York comedy nerds (see "The #DiddyGethard Thing Is Alive"), Mr. Combs uploaded this gem of a video in which he lays claim to Broadway, treats himself to a double soft-serve cone and slaps a bunch of Jacksons in a guy named Lulu's palm.

At about two minutes in, Diddy pulls a Mr. Chi-City, bum rushing an unsuspecting Chris Aurilio (managing assistant of The Peoples Improv Theater and member of sketch comedy team Foolhardy Manor), who clearly wants nothing more than to be left alone. Did Chris really not recognize Diddy at first? "Had no clue," he said.

But after several viewings, I don't know what I love more: Chris's classic New Yorker one-hand-up-to-block-the-crazy-man-on-the-street manuever or his genuine contrition immediately thereafter. Nah, I think I like his: "December 14th, you better buy it" the best. Definitely.

Friday, November 19, 2010 at 7:27PM I can't stand roundtable discussions. Of any kind. But here is the effervescently brilliant Newsmasters, credited to Meetinghouse Productions, which also produces "The Smoking Gun Presents" among other notable projects. According to the YouTube timestamps, these clips have been around since May, yet the hit counts are pretty low. Maybe that's because at first glance, these White-Dudes-in-Suits-style pundits look boring as Hell. But give em a minute and you'll spot real-life comedy-writer gods at work: Jim Downey (Late Night with David Letterman, SNL), Ted Jessup (ABC News, Comedy Central, The Al Franken Show), Steve Higgins (SNL, The Jon Stewart Show), Billy Kimball (The Simpsons, The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Not Necessarily the News), Chelsea Peretti (Variety SHAC, The Smoking Gun), as well as Norm Ornstein of the American Enterprise Institute. How these things suddenly appear online, and why they refer to each other with fake names, is beyond me. But funny is funny. And the presumably improvised banter is priceless. --K.H.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 1:45PM The broads of Broad City do a lot of things, but in their season finale directed by Tim Bierbaum, they finally do the right thing (aka cuss out creepazoids while wearing outfits sewn by Rosie Perez). And these are the dance moves that inspire the Broad City ladies on a daily basis. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 5:51PM While looking for stuff about Stephen Frost's Impro Allstars on YouTube, I came across this video of Mike Myers at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in 1985. Kind of rad. The other guy in it is Neil Mullarkey, an English comic who has collaborated with Myers through much of his career. Mullarkey's in NYC right now with the aforementioned improv ensemble and if you look closely at the promo video I just posted, you'll spot Myers on stage. So will Myers be making surprise appearances at the Webster Hall shows tomorrow and Friday?
