« Guess Tonight's Tiger Lily Surprise Headliner! | Main| Interrogation: Walsh Brothers » Friday Jun 01 2007 Your Weekend Of Catching Up On All The USA Network Shows You Recorded On Your Boyfriend's DVR (if he hasn't erased them), Summarized
Friday, June 1, 2007 at 5:54PM Friday:
Like surprises? Then come on down to M Bar tonight for a great show in honor of a mystery person (we know, but we're not telling!) featuring Wyatt Cenac, Chris Fairbanks, Jarrett Grode, Derek Hughes, the Tomorrow Hosts, hosted by Chad Fadem and Josh Fogland, plus more! (10pm, FREE! But buy a couple of drinks). If cuddling with drunk strangers in big red booths to the beats of Chip Pope is not your style, head over to the UCB to catch Todd Womack's stand-up spotlight (11pm, $8). He promises to tell many comedy jokes. Then, take your smoke break out on Franklin and march right back in at midnight for Matt Besser's "The Very Funny Show" -- which is FREE! -- and may feature (myspace photos of) attractive comedy scene girls you know and love.
Saturday:
If you took our advice for Friday night, then trust us again and see a matinee of Knocked Up at someplace other than the Arclight, where it's not playing. (That Michael Cera's so hot right now.) In the evening, let Metro be your designated driver and take public transportation (Red Line to the Blue Line) to the Found Theatre for Indie Comedy featuring Graham Elwood, Jackie Kashian, Paul Jay, and more (8pm, $10). (Insatiable Paul Jay fans may finally be satisfied by his Half-Hour Special.)
Sunday:
Everybody who's anybody will be watching the second-to-last Sopranos episode (East coast feed) and skipping over to Josh Fadem's Acid Reflux Hour 2-Year Anniversary Show, featuring such favorites as good old Danforth France, Michelle Biloon, Hendershaw, Douggpound, Joe Wagner, and the pie-eating contest master Erik Charles Nielsen (9:30pm, Free). If that lineup isn't enough to get you out of the house, at least tune in to Moral Orel on Cartoon Network for an episode written by L.A.'s own Scott Aukerman, Neil Campbell, and Paul Rust (12:15am).
